College Football National Championship Futures (10-07-2008)
by Nicholas Tolomeo - 10/06/2008

One weekend is all it took to have the college football national championship futures odds fluctuating as much as the stock market. Top 10 teams USC, Florida, Georgia and Wisconsin all fell two weeks ago--as did South Florida this past week--and all these teams saw their odds to take home the biggest prize in college football skyrocket. The biggest winners of the latest chaotic weekends have been Oklahoma and Alabama, which sit No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, atop the AP Top 25 poll.

Big 12 Report - Judgement Day in Texas (10-08-2008)

By Tony George

Wow what a week in the Big 12, and to note, ALL 3 of my free plays covered from my report last week guys, AND I cashed my Big 12 Game of the Month on Missouri -10, and also cashed in Texas Tech, both plays on my Triple Header card last weekend, which is awesome considering it was the first weekend of conference action. Missouri flexed their muscle in Lincoln Nebraska, a game I was at, in a big way, and I am convinced they are the ELITE team in the Big 12, even though Oklahoma is ranked higher, as they stand #1 and #2 in one poll. Chase Daniel has an NFL arm, and this team is loaded with speed and a talent and one of the best ran, well coached spread attacks in College football. Nebraska is a few years away and simply looked slow and lethargic in that game. The notion that Mizzou has no defense is false, I saw a very good defense for Missouri play a flawless game against a tough opponent in a hostile stadium.

The Big 12 Report (10-01-2008)
By Tony George

Conference action opens up finally for the Big 12 this Saturday. While other conferences like the SEC, ACC, Big 10 and PAC 10 have opened up conference play, with some major upsets already in those conferences, The Big 12 has established 5 teams in the Top 25 and 2 teams in the Top 3. Look for Missouri and Oklahoma to be the power of this conference this season once again, and no doubt butt heads in Kansas City in December for the Big 12 Championship. Missouri has their first real road test of the season as they travel to Lincoln Nebraska as an 11 point favorite, a place where they have not won since 1978 with Warren Powers as coach. THIS IS MY BIG 12 GAME OF THE MONTH. As a faithful Husker, I will travel from Kansas City to Lincoln this weekend to see this game.

Option Teams Paying Off For Backers (09-30-2008)
by Robert Ferringo - 09/29/2008

The Option Offense in football is one of the most venerable and classic nuances of America's New National Pastime. The Wishbone. The Wing T. The Single Wing. The very thought of The Option brings one back to Yesteryear, Better Days and Days of Yore. Those were simpler times - The Option reflects that - and a Golden Time when speakeasies, jazz, hard work and racism were at the fabric of American Society.

Monday Morning Headache (09-29-2008)

What a weekend in College and Pro Football it was. To say it was full of head scratching moments for lack of a better term is an understatement. I am not immune to to a bad weekend every now and then, as there is nothing I have not experienced in my 17 years as a Pro Handicapper, but this past weekend was one of my worst on record. I have always prided myself as a guy who is in a business arena that is somewhat shady, but always have maintained an ethical and honest approach, by simply telling it like it is. In retrospect I have left hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table by using this approach, especially in the early years, but I always know what yesterday's story is, and at days end that is how I can sleep at night. I also call myself out when I do poorly, and this weekend I stunk but learned a few things.
