Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez has regained his groove after a brief rough patch, working 20 innings over his last three outings while allowing just three earned runs in the process. All three of those games resulted in Philadelphia victories. His consistency has been a big lift for a staff that continues to give the Phillies a chance to win every night. Adding to that edge, Philadelphia’s offense is red-hot, ranking first in both wOBA and ISO over the past week, showing not only the ability to get on base but also to hit for power at an elite level.

Los Angeles will counter with Shohei Ohtani, and while he remains tough to square up, he hasn’t been carrying games deep, maxing out at five innings per start this season. That has put additional stress on a Dodgers bullpen that hasn’t been nearly as reliable as years past. The Dodgers have come away with just one victory in his last six trips to the mound, which speaks volumes about how little support he’s been getting once he hands the ball off.

With Sanchez in form and the Phillies’ lineup locked in, the visitors look like the right side on Tuesday night. Take Philadelphia over Los Angeles.
