MREAST WEEKLY LOOK AT NCAAF TITLE CHASERS (10-18-2008)
MREAST takes a look at the remaining unbeaten teams in NCAA-F and what they have in store this week.

It was a tough week for the unbeatens, as 5 went down, and that means we now have just 10 left standing. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the 10 that remain, is the fact that 5 Cinderella hopefuls remain unbeaten from non-BCS Conferences. The 5 remaining BCS Confernce teams left, show 3 from the Big-12, 1 from the Big-10, and 1 from the SEC. here is a look at the week ahead. After next week, I will look at the National Championship outlook for each surving team.

BYU (6-0) @ TCU:

This will be the biggest challenge yet for BYU. TCU has the top defense in the country, and held Oklahoma to 36 yards on 25 carries. UPSET alert!

HAWAII @ BOISE ST. (5-0)

This was supposed to be a Boise St. team that was a notch down from teams of their recent past, but here they are alive and well. Don't think this hawaii team poses a threat here this year, especially on the Smurf Turf.

MISSISSIPPI @ ALABAMA (6-0):

Unless the Tide doesn't show up, which is doubtful off of 2 week prep time here, they should easily advance to be in this column next week as a survivor.

MISSOURI @ TEXAS (6-0):

Missouri was shocked at home last week vs an underrated Oklahoma St. team. Texas won a huge game to strip the Sooners of their unbeaten status. Does Missouri come into this one loaded for bear? Or do they wilt, after suffering their first loss? Does Texas have a huge emotional letdown? Or do they now see this game as their path to the National Championship? Stay tuned!

BAYLOR @ OKLAHOMA ST. (6-0):

Baylor had a big game against Uconn, but has shown little to impress since. Cowboys better not be feeling too good off their big win vs Missouri, or could find themselves in a game here.

TEXAS TECH (6-0) @ TEXAS A&M:

Aggies are this year's Baylor and anything short of a blowout here would be a shock!

MICHIGAN @ PENN ST. (7-0):

Penn St. off a huge blowout win at Camp Randall, certainly looks a cut ahead of the rest of the Big-10, including Ohio St. All that is left for Michigan, is to beat Ohio St. in their finale, but no upset in the making here.

UTEP @ TULSA (6-0):

Tulsa had their hands full with an under-manned SMU squad. I guess this team is a mystery, so as much as they should win here easily, who knows.

BYE THIS WEEK:

BALL ST (7-0)

See you again here next Tuesday, have a great week, and may the hook be with you!
