This matchup offers a strong opportunity for Detroit to bounce back after a tough loss to Chicago on Monday, snapping a two-game winning streak. The Pistons are 7-9 on the season and find themselves in a revenge spot after losing to Charlotte on a buzzer-beater earlier this month. Detroit has shown progress on both ends of the court, especially defensively, where they rank significantly better than Charlotte in defensive rating. Charlotte, meanwhile, is 5-9 and enters this contest off back-to-back close losses, including a one-point defeat in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

The Pistons' improved defensive effort should help them control this game, especially against a Hornets team that has struggled to find consistency this season. With added motivation to avenge their prior loss, look for Detroit to set the tone early and cover the spread.

Now I get there's no travel, but they are still playing in this game on no rest. It's also their 3rd game in 4 nights. All of those wins in their 6-game streak were against either bad teams or teams decimated from injuries. As for LA, they are rolling into this game on a 6-game winning streak of their own. I love the look of this Lakers team since Knecht has been inserted into the starting lineup. He's shown he can be that 3rd guy behind LeBron and AD and has been deadly from outside. This will be just the 2nd game in 5 days for LA. Give me the Lakers -5!
