Proposition bets, more commonly known as "props", have gained a ton of media attention in recent years. That attention has caused books to expand their prop options more each year. This year you'll find close to 500 prop bets available on the Super Bowl at various sites, ranging anywhere from the total passing yards each quarterback will have in the game to what songs will be played at the halftime.
We've collected a massive list of the most popular props from Bovada and categorized them for easy access below.
Even better, we have our Super Bowl Prop Bet Sheet for you download and print for your Super Bowl party this year.

Super Bowl Props Picks
Total Number of Penalties Made in the Game by Both Teams
This is another prop that shows tremendous value. The 49 previous Super Bowls have averaged just 10.53 penalties, and just 16 of the 49 saw 13 or more penalties accepted. There was a peak period from Super Bowl 22 through Super Bowl 38 that saw an average of 12.18 penalties accepted, and even the strongest period of the Super Bowl years came in under 13. While this period included just 33% of all Super Bowls the number of years that 13 or more within this heavy penalty period ws 50% of the total years with 13 or more called. The fact is, even then it was a 50-50 proposition. Including that penalty period we still see 67.3% of the time that UNDER wins, and at even -110 odds the value is there.
PLAY: UNDER 12.5 -110
Which Will Be the Highest Scoring Quarter?
The first 49 Super Bowls have broken down as follows, in terms of times won, and odds:
1st 4 (+500)
2nd 10 (+160)
3rd 14 (+450)
4th 19 (+250)
Playing the first and second quarter to be the highest scoring has shown negative value.
The 3rd quarter with 14 wins at +400 would have netted +5600 in winnings, and -3500 in losses for a net of +2100.
The 4th quarter with 19 wins at +250 would have netted +4750 in winnings and -3000 in losses for a net of +1750.
Now, if you doubled up on the 3rd and 4th quarter the net is +10350 in winnings and -6500 in losses for a net of +3850. However, doubling up means you are playing 200.00 instead of 100.00, so the net is just half the amount, or +1925.
here is where it gets complicated, but with such a small difference between the 2, play the 20% differential as follows:
Wager 1 unit (assuming 100.00), as follows:
PLAY: 60% on the 3rd quarter being the highest, and 40% on the 4th quarter being the highest. History says you have a 33-49 chance or 67.3% chance to win money, which is your best and optimal bet.
Will Both teams make a 33 yard field goal or longer?
Both defenses are sensational, top 5 in the NFL, and both are dominant in the red zone. Denver kicker Brandon McManus went 20-for-20 on field goals this season from 20-39 yards, and Carolina kicker Graham Gano was 14-of-15 from that distance.
PLAY: YES +110
Longest Touchdown Yardage in the Game
The Panthers have a bunch of big play threats and I feel for the Broncos to have any chance they are going to be big plays on offense. Both teams have outstanding defenses and thus it will be very hard to sustain a long drive. Therefore, teams will be more adapt to take a chance on big plays since scoring may be at a premium. Super Bowl 50 - Odds to Win MVP
If you like Carolina to win the game, the Panthers are in the -240 range on the moneyline. Why lay that price when a bet on Newton to win the MVP award is only at -130? The QB of the winning team has won seven of the last nine Super Bowl MVP’s, and there are no other obvious candidates for Carolina – it’s hard to picture Jonathan Stewart going off against the Broncos stout run defense, for example. This is a great ‘derivative bet’ to get at the Panthers to win without laying that big moneyline price.
PLAY: CAM NEWTON -130
How many times will Cam Newton do the Open Shirt Superman motion during the game?
Well even if you assume that the Panthers will win the game, he's only going to do the Super Man gesture after scoring a TD. He's faced heavy criticism all week for his showboating ... but it doesn't seem to bother him. I still than more than two Super Man gestures will be over doing it, and besides, he's been more interested in "dabbing" in recent games.
PLAY: UNDER 2.5 -140
Emanuel sanders total receptions
Sanders and Peyton Manning have definitely had a lot of success together. Sanders in #2 in receiving yards for the Broncos. Sanders will be Peyton's main target on Super Bowl Sunday.
PLAY: OVER 5 1/2 -115
Owen Daniels total receptions
Daniels is ranked 3rd on the broncos in receiving yards. Plus, Peyton has become more comfortable throwing to Daniels in recent weeks. He will be Peyton's 2nd favorite target on Super Bowl Sunday.
PLAY: OVER 2 1/2 -135
Total points scored both teams combined
This is going to be a somewhat low scoring game. There's going to be a lot of field goals in this game. Only a few touchdowns. This total will be around 37 or 38 points.
PLAY: BETWEEN 31-40 + 275
Total successful field goals
There will be a lot of field goals in this game. Probably around five at least. This is going to be a defensive battle.

Super Bowl 50 - Odds to Win MVP
The first thing I love to look at is the MVP prop bet. Now there is no money to bet the obvious MVP Cam Newton at -130 there is no money to be made.
Personally, and I know it's rare, but Luke Kuechly has tremendous value at +1400 it is not out of the range of chance that this Top Defense have the MVP in the game as I see this game being low scoring and Luke Kuechly is the best play on Defense and a few sacks of Manning or a interception for a touchdown would be a big payout for our clients. I'll lay 100 dollars on that any day.
PLAY: LUKE KUECHLY +1400
First Touchdown Scorer - Either Team
My absolute favorite is first touchdown scored. Now I usually go with a Tight End as they are a favorite target on the goal line but I can't see the Broncos scoring with there TE's because of the great linebackers on the Panthers and Demaryius Thomas will probably be defended by Josh Norman a shut down corner and the best in Football.
I like Emanuel Sanders to score the first TD at +900 - it is a great value selection for the money.
PLAY: EMANUEL SANDERS +900
Super Bowl 50 - Odds to Win MVP
If the Broncos were to pull the upset, Manning likely would have the numbers to be the MVP. Defensive players rarely are named MVP. Unless Denver wins totally in spite of Manning, it's easy to see sentiment also playing a part in the decision.
PLAY: PEYTON MANNING +275
Will either backup QB take a snap in the game?
The No. 1 factor for believing this is the possibility of Peyton Manning being pulled late in the game - unless it's a super competitive game - as a final curtail call to his career. This is a way to honor Manning, who almost assuredly is playing in his final game. There also is a chance the Broncos could try to mix things up a little bit and put in Brock Osweiler as a change of pace, or if Manning is proving ineffective. I'm certainly not rooting for either Cam Newton or Manning to get shaken up, but that's always a possibility, too.
PLAY: YES +200
The first scoring play of the game will be (exact result)?
Both teams will be nervous as expected in a Superbowl game so to say the Panthers or Broncos can't score first is ridiculous. Both teams got here so we are talking about the 2 best teams in football. Both defenses will be on high alert against each QB's passing game. Once a team gets close enough to the goal line they will most likely run the ball than risk a turnover. So at these odds, I like the Bronco's chance as much as the Panther's chance to score first and run it in.
PLAY: DENVER BRONCOS RUSHING TD +850
Total Touchdowns - Carolina Panthers
Super Bowl 50 is finally here and is already living up to the hype, from Manning retirement rumors to Opening Night interviews and performances. And let's not forget all the picks and predictions, not that the plethora of analysts will let you. But the thing that captures the attention of even the most casual bettors is the fascination with prop bets! Who will win the coin toss? How long will the National Anthem be sung? Will Ted Ginn, Jr. drop a pass? You name it, you can likely bet on it. I always find prop bets exciting and have even found them to be quite lucrative! Assuming you stay away from the chance bets. So what's a good prop bet for this year's Big Game? Consider this: The Carolina Panthers scored 59 TDs this season. They scored 30 field goals out of 36 attempts. That's nearly 70% of all scoring plays were TDs! And nearly half of the field goals made were from the 40+ mark while a couple of the gimmees were run-out-the-clock scenarios. The Panthers smell blood when they get anywhere near the End Zone. But there are 2 teams on the field, so let's take a look at the Broncos who have allowed 29 TDs to 25 field goals this season. They have also allowed 3 pick-6 returns and at last count, the Panthers were on the better side of 6 (but that's a whole other fun prop). If the Panthers score in the game, they are going to do it 6 points at a time. And my money is on them scoring more than 3 times on Sunday. Take Carolina OVER 3 TDs for the easy prop bet!
PLAY: CAROLINA PANTHERS OVER 3 (EVEN)
Will there be a missed extra point after touchdown?
The added pressure of kicking in the Super Bowl and untested field conditions can possibly lead to a missed extra point from 33 yards out.
PLAY: YES (MISSED PAT) +325 (1 UNIT)
Will the Carolina Panthers score a defensive or special teams TD in the game?
Will the Denver Broncos score a defensive or special teams TD in the game?
Two great defenses and special teams. Good value on these prop plays.

Total Rushing Yards - Peyton Manning (DEN)
I have to say, this is by far my favorite prop. All I see in my head is Manning doing what Elway did. Diving for the end zone. Now. It can be a 3rd and 6 in the first quarter. It can be 4th and 15 from his own 22. But Manning is going to take off at some point during this game. There is absolutely no way he is throwing balls away. Let's be honest. This is probably the last hurrah for the Hall of Famer. So, I think he leaves it all on the field. And that means taking off and trying to make something happen.
PLAY: OVER ½ +160
Total Receptions by Ronnie Hillman
This game might see limited running from both teams as stout defenses will provide little running room. I see a lot of 3rd down passing situations and Ronnie Hillman potentially gets involved in the passing game when it struggles at time. Getting positive odds at +130 makes for an interesting prop bet.
PLAY: OVER 1½ +130
Cam Newton Total Rushing Yards
Newton has averaged 39.8 yards rushing this season. Most of these rushing yards have been gained on designed runs. Cam will not only get yards on his normal designed runs but he will be pressured more in this game by Denver's terrific defensive ends than in any game played this season. This means Cam will have to improvise which will lead to him having more rushing yards than normal.
PLAY: OVER 39½ -125
Will either team score 3 unanswered times in the game?
I’m projecting a close game throughout and I don’t believe either team will score on three-straight drives. If the game becomes a blow-out than this prop is toast.
PLAY: NO +170
Total Successful Field Goals
After projecting a close, tight game with both defenses playing well look for the offenses to be forced to kick filed goals and I see value at this plus price. Both Brandon McManus and Graham Gano were in the Top 5 in field goals made this season with 30 each. Best prop price on this one is at Station Casinos.
