FRANK’S CUTTING ROOM FLOOR FOR THURSDAY, 4/3:
My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Thursday is with Chattanooga plus the points versus UC-Irvine in the Championship Game of the NIT. Chattanooga (28-9) has won 16 of their last 17 games after their 80-73 upset victory against Loyola-Chicago as a 2.5-point underdog on Monday. The Mocs have pulled off four straight upset victories — but that should not spook off bettors when considering they have covered the point spread in 7 of their 8 games this season following an upset win. They have also covered the point spread in 11 of their last 13 games as an underdog. UC-Irvine (32-6) has won 10 of their last 11 games after their 69-67 upset victory as a 1-point underdog on Monday. The Anteaters have failed to cover the point spread in 7 of their last 11 games played on a neutral court with the Total set in the 140s. They have also failed to cover the point spread in 6 of their 8 tournament championship games under head coach Russell Turner. Take Chattanooga plus the points. Best of luck — Frank.

Free Play – Take OVER 145.5 #673-74 Chattanooga vs UC Irvine (9:00 p.m. ET, Thursday, Apr. 3)
I said before the tournament that UC Irvine deserved to be in the NCAA tournament. The Anteaters reaching this proves my point as they would have at least put up a better showing than first-round losers Oklahoma, Georgia, North Carolina, or Miss. State. I have no problem with guys in this industry not watching games, but for me, it is often a big plus. I wouldn’t have known that Chattanooga has such a great looking offense that can make 3s in bunches or expertly find a weakside cutter for layups. This should be a terrific game, and all three of my power ratings have this title game going OVER by at least three points.
